Fellow Chapter Members & Guests – Summer has arrived!. I’ve recently expanded Light Sport 2.0 pilot certification training at KGVE & KOMH and am continuing tail wheel basics and refresher/ recurrency training.
It is with a heavy heart that I notify you we lost EAA pilot Roland ‘Rolly’ Babcock of EAA Chapter 1099, Fredericksburg, late the morning of Tuesday, July 14th; while he was on final approach to KEZF Runway 24. The FAA/ NTSB and VSP are investigating the crash; a preliminary report is pending release in 2 to 3 weeks. I’ll provide separate information on his funeral service and interment at Quantico National Cemetery on July 30th.
Please join us this Saturday for our meeting starting at 11:00 AM; followed ny an ice cream social. Our presentation will be on new Light Sport 2.0 MOSAIC Compliant aircraft entering the marketplace starting this month.
Hope to see you there for our meeting and ice cream social.
